Fatima Ayala
Clinical Mental Health Counseling Intern
Hello, I am a Clinical Mental Health Counseling intern currently completing my training at Governors State University. I am passionate about supporting children, adolescents, and adults as they navigate life’s challenges, transitions, and opportunities for growth.
My approach to therapy is rooted in compassion, collaboration, and evidence-based practices. I integrate Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Choice Therapy, and Person-Centered Therapy to create a supportive space tailored to each client’s unique needs.
I enjoy working with individuals who are experiencing grief, life transitions, relationship concerns, anxiety, or self-esteem challenges. In addition, I value the opportunity to work with bilingual clients and Spanish-speaking communities, ensuring therapy is both accessible and culturally responsive.
My goal is to help clients feel seen, heard, and empowered while developing practical tools to strengthen resilience and well-being. Healing is a journey, and I am committed to walking alongside clients as they discover new possibilities, embrace growth, and create meaningful change in their lives.
